Arisman Tribute Apparel

Inspired by a vintage promotional t-shirt discovered during a visit to the archives at the School of Visual Arts - this project pays tribute to artist, illustrator, and chair of the MFA Illustration department Marshall Arisman.
The front of the garment features his frequently used saying “Follow Your Bliss”, while the back showcases his iconic monkey illustration from the renowned 1974 SVA subway poster.
Accompanying the illustration is a tagline written by his wife and collaborator, Dee Ito.
Photographed in the MFA Illustration as Visual Essay academic department and modeled by Arisman’s longtime colleague and friend, Kim Ablondi as well as his wife and collaborator, Dee Ito.
